Being vegetarian every time I have amazing delicious food I want to share it with everyone. So if you are in Hamilton I highly recommend you check out Palate.
Panfried halloumi, courgette, eggplant, pesto and rocket $34.00 complimented with a glass of gladstoe vineyard ‘sophie’s choice’ reserve 12 (wairarapa) $14.5.
Desert -brioche and almond pudding, rhubarb, custard and ginger ice cream $15.00
This is definitely the best restaurant I have tried in the Waikato. It is located in the heart of Hamilton in a beautiful setting beside the river. I have to admit it is more than I would usually pay but sometimes its just worth it. So if you ever down in the area I would encourage you to book. Palate was awarded the Best Regional Restaurant in New Zealand in the Cuisine NZ Restaurant of the Year Awards 2011 and 2012.
Another top tip would be to walk along the river and chill with a good book and a coffee and then then take a short drive to Hamilton Gardens.
There is nine themed gardens. It is a perfect date place. The best part is that it is free with heaps of parking too.
I have posted some pictures of my favourite gardens. These included Mauri gardens, Tudor gardens, Tropical gardens, Italian gardens, Japanese gardens.
The Fantasy garden collection represented the different genres of garden fantasy that influenced gardens from different cultures.
Usually when you think of going to look at gardens you think of you nana and assume its a older generation place to hang out but this place would appeal to so many people and would have something for everyone. If you in the area you should check it out!
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned for where my road trip takes me next!
